The RCP Redirect function allows Flex 6000 users the ability to re-assign other Radio Slices 'B' - 'H' (per radio ability) for four of the RCP ports (3,4,5,6). This redirection has the following properties/restrictions for the connected RCP software.

Restrictions

  • Only works for the F6000 radios.
  • Only the Kenwood radio type is supported. Other radio types CAT commands are not recognized.
  • Only VFO A is supported.
  • Split operation IS NOT supported for re-assigned slices. Slice TX must be selected manually on the SSDR GUI.

Properties

  • Frequency and Mode may be assigned by the RCP software.
    • Double-clicking a Telnet Spot entry will QSY the re-assigned slice's frequency and set it's mode.
    • Changing frequency and/or mode in an RCP program will adjust the slice accordingly.

Using

  • In DDUtil (Ports Tab | RCPs group) connect one end of a virtual port pair to one of the RCP ports (RCPs 3,4,5,6 only).
  • Open the Cat port configuration section of the selected RCP and connect the other end of the port pair that was connected to DDUtil in the above step.
  • Verify the RCP is following the radio.
  • In DDUtil (Ports Tab | RCP ReDirect group) find the matching drop-down box and select the radio slice you would like to use for the RCP you setup above.
  • The frequency of the RCP should change to agree with the new slice frequency.
